                                                        www.austinpublishinggroup.com

PROTON PUMP INHIBITOR is a kind of medicine which is used to decrease the heart burn, ulcers in the stomach and duodenum, gastroesophageal reflux disease etc., Heart Burn is generally a condition which involves pain in the chest caused by the stomach acid. This is caused by huge intake of alcohol, Caffeine, chocolates, acidic foods and juices and other beverages which are carbonated. In order to relieve this pain, proton pump inhibitors are taken by the affected person.

Intake of these proton pump inhibitors causes many side effects such as headache, nausea, constipation, abdominal pain, dementia, kidney diseases and mainly causes heart stroke. The effects are based on the dosage of the PPI’s. Various PPI’s used are Protonix, Prevacid, Prilosec and Nexium. People using low dosage such as 10 to 20 milligrams per day will be away from high risks but the use of high dosage such as 60 milligram per day (prevacid) and 80 milligrams per day (protonix) paves a way to higher risk such as heart stroke. The usage of these proton pump inhibitors is increasing day by day and according to the researchers in Denmark, nearly 9500 people using PPI’s  were attacked by stroke in past three years. So they are suggesting people to consult the doctor before taking these PPI’s.
